Out Of Nowhere (On Hold For Now)

She laid her head on my chest, her crying slowly stopping as she started talking.

"I'm fine. I just didn't want to be alone..."

I lifted her chin, the light letting me barely see her face, but I could see a look in her eyes that I instantly hated seeing. Slowly I laid my forehead onto hers, and our eyes locked.

"I promise you, that you won't ever be alone. Not while I'm here, alive and breathing. You will never have to fight alone, I'll be there to defend you and to protect you from this evil world."

The look in her eyes changed before me. Now they were shining with what I could only assume was hope, and that was the look about her I loved.
