The man curses under his breath but thankfully with my hearing advantages I hear him. "little bitch." He says.
"Oh now really?" I smile evilly at him. He looks at me with sudden surprise. But before he can do anything I punch him square in the jaw and knee him in the jewels.
"Sweet dreams." I say and slap him.
But when I turn around dark figures advance on me, closer, and closer. Their beady red eyes looking at me with no expression. A cold feeling drops in the pit of my stomach. It feels like someone just turned down the heater twenty degrees.
"Tsk, tsk little one." The closest one smiles revealing razor sharp fangs.
Another one advances on me smiling along with the others, but holding a knife.
"The war is coming now child. You better run." The closest one sneers.
I turn around and take off in a full blown sprint. But the more I run, I don't seem to be getting any closer to the door.
"Now Mazy, Just let us take you away to a land where you can get anything you want. There's no pain, nothing." One of them says, using my name for the first time. But I immediately know what he's saying.
"I'm not going to friggin' heaven! And if you kill me, I'd just go to hell!" I retort.
"Well make your choice now, do you want to live, or die." One says, creeping behind me.
But before I can say anything. A hot sensation rises in my back, spreading. I rip out what is causing the problems, but I immediately drop it.
"A-a silver knife."

Book 1: Maple, of the Orynx series. "You're a long way from home little missy" he stated, voice hoarse and eyes heightened with darkness and intent over my decrepit wounded fragile body. "Pl-please, leave me alone" stuttering softly I tried to crawl slowly backwards under his hardened body stance levitating over me. "Now why would I do that?" his expression enlightened with amusement and face tilting to the side. "I wouldn't want you to injure yourself any further" his eyes directed at my wounded and bloody side. In a rapid movement, he grabbed my leg and pulled me back to him ensuring I couldn't crawl any further away. Grunting and winching from pain, I threw my head back onto the ground resulting in a loud thud, pressing on my wounded excruciating painful side to stop more blood from seeping out. "St-st-stop" I coughed barely getting my breath stabilized. His gaze darkened once more whilst travelling up my wounded side with his bare cold hands, "Oh, but we wouldn't want your blood to go to perfect waste" his face darkening and eyes gleaming with hunger, portraying his sharp-edged fanged teeth, "now do we?" Before he could even lash his teeth onto me an enormous and strong muscular body grabbed him by the back of his neck, grunting with anger he decapitated his head and threw his lifeless body to the side of the forest ground. Barely keeping my eyes open, briefly, I saw the muscular man running to me, swiftly placing his strong hands firmly on my bleeding side. I finally escaped the factory, they kidnapped me from my college. Today is my birthday, and I had planned for it but nothing helped, only calming me down for the moment. A scream echoed out in the silent starry sky, my body freezing... They were looking for me, I just knew it. Again, I ran and jumping over the fence to the property, muscles burning, my breathing short. I look behind me, not seeing the light of the school anymore. I slow down, holding my breath again. Looking around, only trees and bugs surround me. I slowly sank to my knees, gripping the grass in between my fingers, to keep my breathing calm. Tears springing to my eyes and brushing the tears away, slowly getting back to normal. Suddenly, I felt someone behind me. I could feel its strength and power surround me, turning around to see a dark figure behind me. Glowing blue eyes stared at me, seeing it slowly walk toward me. My breathing becoming short again, a panic attack was on the verge. A hand was now on my shoulder and another on my cold cheek, making me look into his eyes, "Let me help you..." He whispered. Rubbing his thumb against my cheek, I slowly nod my head, when a pain began to form in my chest. I knew it was coming. I quickly get away, crawling a couple feet away. "Get away!" I yelled. My skin turning white and the pain erupting inside of me, feeling it try to escape, and I know if I let it. It will hurt this man. Suddenly, he was there in my view. Blue eyes staring at me, and then his lips were on my own. Gasping as I felt the pain beginning to disappear from inside me. Eyes drooping and my body relaxing against his. My dream continued the one I'd been having for the past couple of nights. I ran, gasping for breath, through the familiar woods from a dark figure behind me. The faster I tried to run, the slower I seemed to go, until it was like I was running in place. I knew I needed to run. I was terrified of what the figure would do when he caught me. "Mara Leigh," a deep, smooth voice called. It was almost hypnotic. That was new. The figure had never spoke before now. I ran as fast as I could go, eyes searching the forest floor for a big stick or something that I could use to defend myself. "Mara Leigh!" the voice came again, this time more insistent. The forest slowly started to fade and I started to awake to someone shaking my shoulders. "Beau?" I mumbled, turning my head to the side. What's Beau doing in my room this time of night? Why is he shaking me? "Do not call me that name." My eyes flew open as I jumped at the voice from my dream. A face was right in front of mine, and just like the voice, it wasn't Beau. Before I could form a scream, a hand covered my mouth. I tried to bite it but I couldn't get my mouth to open. He's too strong. I started to use my whole body to try to get away, but he crawled on top of me, holding me down. I pulled the hidden knife out from under my pillow and slashed as hard as I could at him, but he just grabbed my wrist and squeezed it until the pain made me drop the knife. Then he grabbed both my hands in one of his and held them over my head. He held me down while I struggled. I grunted and moved and tried to kick and scream, but I only wore myself out. Exhausted, I stopped thrashing and let the tears flow freely down my cheeks. I didn't know what to do, so I just tried to prepare myself for whatever was coming.Concluída

James and Vincent stared at my shoulders, I looked down to see nothing there and was confused for a minute and then it clicked that my wounds had healed completely. I lifted my top slightly to see that there was a faint scar of the burn, I smiled at the thought of no more pain. I looked up to see the wolves were gone. "You have a lot of explaining to do young lady." I turned around to see Vincent and James with only shorts on. "I don't know what you mean?" I said innocently. I looked around to see Ethan gone. "We mean how did your wounds heal so quickly?" Vincent replied. "Well to get an answer you will have to catch me first." I said running off letting my wolf take over once again, Natalie shifts into my wolf and takes off. I shuddered. It had never been so dark, nor so quiet before. There was always the light of the moon to guide me. The sound of the wind against the trees. I shook the thought from my mind and continued further into the wood. Then I saw it. A white light spread across the ground in front of me. The clouds had parted from where they were, revealing the moon at its fullest. I stared in awe. It had never been so bright. The ambiance began to come back. The wind began to dance with the trees. I closed my eyes. The scent of oak filled my nose and exhaled through my mouth. The aroma filled me with exhilaration. It filled me with something I couldn't explain. I felt something I hadn't felt in a long time. Although it was something I wasn't used to feeling, I craved it deeply. I felt happy. I felt as if nothing else mattered than this moment. I opened my eyes. Everything seemed clearer. I could see the particles of dust flying in the beam of light that shone around me. I wanted to stay here for longer. I wanted this moment to last forever. Until I saw the wolf. It was hidden among the fold of trees behind me. It stared at me in aggravation. It's brows furrowed in my direction. It's face, livid with anger, revealed a set of unpleasant and sharp teeth. It began to move slightly forward. The wolf bounded towards me. It happened so quickly I had no time to react. It's limbs outstretched. It's teeth bared. My body, paralyzed from fear, refused to move. My lip quivered, urged to call for help, but no help would come. I was too deep into the woods. No one would hear my screams.
