The Skarsgård family live in Stockholm, Sweden. Alaska, their daughter, was given a special abilty that would let her read other people's minds. Mr. and Mrs. Skarsgård don't know what else to do with her ability, or some might say: curse. They decide the best thing in this case to do is to send her boarding school. Rainford is full of mystery. Is there something hidden in that school?

(Teacher/Student relationship) Janice has a hard life with her father. Her dad and brother killed her mother and she is forced to stay with them. So when the trip to the Bahamas with her junior class comes, she is more than happy for a little freedom. Of course, Janice can't seem to catch a break. The plane crashs in the ocean. She along with Mr. Rush, her too perfect and curious teacher, are the only ones that survived. How will they live, on an island alone? If surviving wasn't enough, try having to deal with keeping secrets hidden, ones that could mean life or death for Janice if she ever makes it off the island. And what could be better than testing just how far will they go to do the right thing when feelings start to grow?
