All his life, Garret Raidenson was taught two specific ideas: the Calentals were a people living in the shadow of deception, who were in need of rescue, and it was him who was destined to do it.
When he meets a beautiful Calental girl in the forest, it's no surprise that Garret tries to save her from her brainwashed state. As their friendship begins to form, Garret learns that, perhaps, he is the one actually living in darkness. She talks to him about a freedom and peace he has only dreamed about, and a doomed love is formed between the enemies. The world will never again be the same.
But Garret is the son of the first High General, making him the third most powerful person among the Faonyals. He has been through training and schooling all his life to prepare him for his inevitable fate. He was born to wage war against Cael, the Lord of the Calentals, and unite the world under one order once again. With the weight of the world and it's future on his shoulders, Garret must learn to cope with the pressure, his father's abuse, and his own longing for more, making any relationship between the two groups completely impossible.
The line is swiftly drawn between the two sides, and Garret must choose which one is really shrouded in darkness. Will he choose his father and his destiny, or fight against fate and go with the girl who promises life? Through a journey of risks, romance, rejection, and confusion, Garret is determined to find the truth before the lies destroy him.

WATTPAD BOOKS EDITION You do magic once, and it sticks to you like glitter glue... When Johnny and his best friend, Alison, pass their summer holidays dabbling in magic, they never expect it to have consequences. Sure, it'd be great if they could banish bullies or change their lives for the better, and what harm could come from lighting a few candles and chanting a few spells? They get their answer in the form of an earthquake unleashed at their behest, which draws the attention of the Marduk Institute, an age-old organization dedicated to fostering the talents of young wizards. Whisked away to the institute and told they can never return to their old lives, Johnny and Alison must quickly adapt to a new world shimmering with monsters, fraternities, and cute boys like Hunter and Blake. But when they're pulled into a dark, supernatural fight that could cost them their lives, they'll have to find strength they never knew they had as they battle for love, acceptance, and their own happy endings -- all with the help of a little bit of magic.
