In an area of the forest known as Arafellinim, foxes and wolves have been enemies longer than anyone remembers.
Moon is a fox who wishes it was different. She's always been intrigued by the canine beasts who howl to her namesake in the night: their strength, their size, and the way they rely on each other without being called weak. Her one wish is to be able to run with the great wolf packs that roam the fields and valleys. But even with foxes being known for their cleverness and stealth, she can barely even get close enough to see one. A twisted foreleg makes it hard for Moon to even find her own food, leaving her still in the care of her mother- at least until a disaster strikes and she's left alone in the woods.
Sun is a wolf, the hated son of his pack's alpha who somehow managed to work his way to an omega status. But even being the lowest ranking wolf in the pack, Sun still finds his way into trouble. The one way it could get worse for him is exile- something he's dangerously close to, now that his adopted mother is dead. The only thing he knows to do to raise his status is to capture his kind's one enemy, the creature who killed his loving caretaker: a fox.
When Moon and Sun meet, Sun is delighted at the chance to torment a fox, while Moon is uncharacteristically furious at meeting a wolf, for a good reason. Sun plans to bring her straight back to his pack, but life has different plans for them. And now, they might just be forced to learn why orange and silver hate each other so much.
Note: I'm not sure if I'd rate this "mature", but if you're very sensitive to violence, then you have been warned.
