Elle Fairchild is a girl of the future, and recently she got an Omnien installed, which allows her to do things she couldn't do before. Of course, it was just another part of being normal in her town, and her life has always been just that. Normal. That is until strange things occur. Her older brother disappeared without a trace, her parents suddenly stop remembering things, and her friends seem to have obtained completely different personalities. After an encounter with the police and a talk with the mayor, she packs her bags and leaves the comfy life she was so used to. Eventually, she meets up with a team of people called the Defiance, and she only hopes that they can help her uncover the truth that's hidden deep beneath many lies.

Luna Vis woke up one morning, or rather one night, to the dim light of the moon. It was a day that started like any other, but turned out unlike any other, setting off the chain reaction that set her life ablaze for a second time. For six years she had lived a new normal after her life was uprooted, but now everything was on the cusp of changing again. Almost exactly six years prior, the world as it was had changed entirely for half of the world. And over a century prior to that, the world had burned. The world burned in silver and in gold, and out of the ashes rose a phoenix: a new dawn for civilization. New cities, new ideas. New weapons. New... insurance policies. Now Luna and her friends are learning first hand what being on the front lines of a war is like. Now they are finally learning what it was the government had kept so secret for six years. Now it is all up to them, but more specifically, up to Luna to stop The Eye and the White Sand from ruining everything. Only months away from her sixteenth birthday, she is handed a purpose that may just be worth a sacrifice. Soon the world will be normal... whatever she chooses that to be.
