Mike a senior jock in highschool, comes out as gay to his unrealistic parents. They deny that his gay and act as though he is focused on sports and school work and he is just stressed. His ever so perfect parents with his mom being a chef and his dad a well known dentist are afraid to admit the truth about their son as they cant have another child, as well them wanting to be grandparents. But Mike soon finds out a secret in his family and cant forgive the lies they've told.
He befriends El, the new mexican kid from Alaska, on the bus. They form an indescribable relationship over their love of music.
Elliot Denio aka El hides his flaws behind his moppy hair and ever so famous smile. His family life is broken as his dads in jail and his mom picks up an Alchol addiction once her dad has died. Elliot being the only kid, looks after his drunk and crashed mother, his dying forgettable grandmother and a fluffy cat named Linn. All of this and a possible strange feeling towards his new best friend Mike and Mikes best friend Isabella might just be too much for him.
