Caroline Woods lives an isolated life constructed of half-formed daydreams, wisps of fantasies, and the vague idea that elsewhere in the world not all revolves around her perplexing and bizarre home. Both the land she is grounded on and the clouds surrounding her head disappear completely the day she learns of the existence of an entity she never imagined could be real: magic. (Forgive me the lumbering prose and inaccurate descriptions; I'm only just beginning to get my sea legs back beneath me, and once they've finished wobbling and can stand up straight, my writing will improve, I'm sure.)
