Being not entirely heartless, Zeus arranges a system that allows people to know whether or not they have met their true other half: taking away their ability to see color. The only way that a person may be able to see color is by meeting and falling in love with their true soulmate.

After spending a lifetime not being able to see color, Ariel meets a boy and begins to see in color. Remarkably, the boy in return cannot see in color in return. Realizing that there is a major flaw in the system that appears to save people from heartbreak, Ariel must learn to cope and find a new light in life.
