Left in the world with no birth parents and relatives or home at a young age, Leslie Saunders, a 23 year old Masters student, struggles to find her place in the world while dealing with the emotional damage of being an orphan child that very few had accepted into their circles. Living in Brooklyn with her adoptive mother, Dawn Saunders, a nearly 70 year old proud-to-be Woodstock hippie, she suffers from chronic nightmares that recall her traumatic experiences from her orphanage days before Dawn adopted her as well as being haunted by an apparition in the form of a young girl with no eyes. One night, in order to maintain her fragile sanity, she and her closest friend, Melanie Iglesia, go to see a band play in Williamsburg in order to cool off from finals. There she meets a vampire by the name of Darcy Hammond, the closest link to her birth parents' identities and her portal to the Unknown World.

There was a time in 2017 - 2018 when I gave up on this book but in 2019 I finally decided to pick it back up and finish it off. Epilogue updated on June 29th, 2019.
