Sydney Carton is a character orginally from the famous novel, "A Tale of Two Cities," by Charles Dickins, and the last two lines in the last stanza ("[i]t is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done") belong to Dickins, as they come from the last page of his novel. SPOILER ALERT for "A Tale of Two Cities": This poem depicts the thoughts I imagine might have gone through Sydney Cartons head just before he was executed in Charles Darnay's place at the end of the novel.

I take the plot line from movies (including Ever After ...something I can't remember despite literally just watching it) and the actual Cinderella story. I can't remember much from the book besides the fact it was terribly written with multiple mistakes, which were mostly typing errors made by my unprofessional self. I decided to re-do the cover and title, so it may have little reference to the book, but oh well. I believe this is set within the Loverslane season of Aphmau's Mystreet series.
