I still remember when it happened, the confirmation that werewolves weren't just a fairytale that existed. They lived under our noses, looking like and interacting with us, posing as humans. Though some people may have fantasized about how we would live in harmony and co-exist if they did exist. A World War suddenly broke out between us, people turning on each because we couldn't tell them apart from us. So much carnage, the deaths totaling up to about a billion, and I don't know the exact breakdown because it happened so quickly; I believe that most of those losses were humans. I don't know the real reasons for what may have caused the war; I speculate that we couldn't take not being at the top of the food chain any longer. Or maybe they saw us as inferior beings that didn't deserve to be in control. You would think with the world's population being 5.5 billion before the war, the majority of the people would be humans. However, the specifics don't matter anymore because all humans have been rounded up and put in small confinements. We're forced to work and do jobs like digging, mining, building or welding, and factory work. They said that education is no longer available since all we need to do is work. Some are lucky if they had any books in their homes that they could grab before being forced to leave because they aren't banned. We get paid very little, only enough to barely buy food to stop starvation, while they live in luxury. It makes no sense to dwell on that past since the world changed when I was only 20. *** At only 25 years old, Isabella Carter lives through hell at the mercy of the werewolves. She lives in a tiny apartment with her little brother Maxwell. Being assigned to work as a digger, they allowed her to take her little brother and her to work. She is the only one left to care for her younger brother, with her mother dead. What happens when the Alpha of her sector comes to randomly check on the business and claims her to be his soulmate?

CAUTION CONTAINS MATURE CONTENT. "Say it, Allison," he said, his voice low as he trapped me against the rough wall. A shiver ran down my spine, his voice pulling at me, the power in it making me want to do anything he asked. I shook my head, afraid my voice might betray me. His teeth lightly grazed my neck causing a sigh to get past my lips. I could feel him smile against my skin. He knew he was going to get what he wanted one way or another. I tried to slip away, but he grabbed my wrists, pinning them down tightly. He pressed his hard body against me. I was aware of every inch of him that was touching me. "Don't think you can just leave. We're not done yet." My stomach tightened at his words, the desire inside burning for him. My damn body at war with my mind yet again. He slid his hand up to the edge of my shorts, slowly working it's way up as his mouth trailed small nips from my neck to my collar bone and lower, stopping only when he reached the fabric. I could feel my resolve weakening as his hand reached its destination. "Say it," he demanded. I moaned, my head tipping back as he moved expertly. I wanted to say it then, I really did. But if I said the words, there was no going back. ***************** Allison Cole has just turned seventeen. Most girls would be excited, but she doesn't see it as anything special. She can now find her mate, wherever he is. But she doesn't put much stock in mates or true love. How could something like that be predetermined? Things only go from bad to worse when on that very day she discovers who her mate actually is. Will Allison be able to overcome her bleak thoughts about mates and accept hers? Or is the man bad enough to make her run away? Caught between her body, her mind, and what's best for her pack. Allison must make her decision. Is it worth it?
