Unraveling - Chapter One

Mia's life is going in circles. No matter where she goes, she always ends up where she started.

Two years ago, she left her hometown and thought she would never go back. Then she learns that Emily, her former best friend, has died in a horrific accident. Mia decides to return home for one day, finally prepared to face the ghosts of her past.

The last time Mia was home, her whole high school had turned against her. Going home means encountering the people who made her leave in the first place. Yet, Mia remains determined to see how much the town and its people have changed––but more importantly, to find out the events leading to Emily's death.

In a narration addressed to Emily, she tells the entire story of a ruined friendship––from its timid beginning to its explosive end.
