Man has through the ages sought in vain for an imaginary elixir of life, the divine Amrita, a draught of which was thought to confer immortality. But the true elixir of life lies near to our hands. For it is the commonest of all liquids, plain water! I remember one day standing on the line which separates the Libyan Desert from the valley of the Nile in Egypt. On one side was visible a sea of billowing sand- without a speck of green or a single living thing anywhere visible on it .On the other side lay one of the greenest, most fertile and densely populated areas to be found anywhere on the earth, teeming with life and vegetation. What made this wonderful difference? Why, it is the water or the river Nile, flowing down to the Mediterranean from its sources a couple of thousands of miles away. Geologists tell us that the entire soil of the Nile valley is the creation of the river itself, brought down as the fine silt in its flood waters, from the highlands of Abyssinia and from remote Central Africa and laid down through the ages in the trough through which the Nile Flows into the sea. Egypt, in fact was made by its river. Its ancient civilization was created and is sustained by the life-giving waters which come down year after year-with unfailing regularity.

28. On a beach vacation, you dive into the water, but it turns purple and suddenly you're pulled under the sand. What's waiting for you beneath the surface? 34. Your new job requires an out of town overnight orientation, but when you check in, you run into someone from your past that you never thought you'd see again. Casey (Cas) Galanis doesn't know whether to say she is a burn victim, or was, as it had been over a decade. While her body bore the evidence of her past, she was more than ready to leave every bit of the trauma from recovery and society behind her. Unfortunately, anyone back home that was still cruel about her looks wasn't going to change. They didn't want to see her as capable of caring for herself. The lowest point was her sister refusing to have her in her wedding photos, citing aesthetics. The out she found was in the hospitality industry, specifically an older, privately owned hotel. True, people would continue to be cruel to her. Even if they brought up her looks, they would be more concerned that their room was clean, the TV worked, the pool was warm, and they made it in time for the complimentary breakfast. And most of that, as a maid, wouldn't be her problem. That, and it came with a room that they couldn't be rented out. Which was odd for a hotel a short walk from the beach. The first hurdle would be the Tuesday night orientation. The second would be if she could learn to love the beach and all it's exposure. But there would be more surprises in store-the doctor who helped heal her and the dead Egyptian god who consumed any free time she had. Because of the possibilities in two men, life wasn't lonely anymore. Cover Art: Photo by Austin J. The arms race began in Mesopotamia with the invention of composite bows, light chariots and crossbows. The Persian (Iranian) emperor tried to conquer Athens in 480 BCE but was delayed by the Spartans at Thermopylae while Greek warships destroyed the Persian fleet. The Macedonian ruler, Alexander the Great, completely destroyed the Persian armies by 326 BCE and established the Greek empire. Then, between 600 and 200 BCE, a few hundred Greeks revolutionized science, mathematics, medicine, engineering, history, law and philosophy. Meanwhile, Greeks settlers in Sicily were in conflict with Rome and, by first century BCE, Romans had conquered Greece, Egypt, Carthage and the old Persian empire. Roman traders made large profits using the Silk Road between Rome, China and India and which created higher incomes though out the Roman empire. Roman engineers built more than 80,000 km of roads throughout the empire and 800 km of aqueducts in Rome delivered a million cubic metres of water each day. WHO THE HELL ARE WE? is a series of short books and videos describing the evolution of civilization. Almost everyone on the planet is five times wealthier than their ancestors only 50 years ago. This astonishing phenomenon has also improved health, education, and longevity. The cause; an explosive growth in ideas and productivity. It began when we learned to control fire, evolved articulate speech and stumbled onto the way to create infinite wealth; free trade. The discovery of agriculture made us richer but we also learned how to destroy wealth. Great civilization grew up but then disappeared leaving only incredible ruins and ideas. Later books detail some of the ideas and developments that increased the average life span from about 40 years to more than 80 and the average world income from less than $3 to more than $33 per person per day (and to $140 per day in some countries).

He tightly grabs me by my waist and he holds me in place while I still continue to get captivated by whatever it is that is happening here. "Tell me what you see." He commands in a voice that sounds so beautifully smooth and pleasant to listen to. My words are choked up and I can't even begin to explain what lies in those eyes of his. Something about his presence is reeling me in, pulling me more soulfully closer to him, something that i am not even sure is possible but I feel this connection to him, this ancient ancient connection, like I had seen him before, like I had known him for a long time, a life time. And the way he's holding me !!! He feels familiar and yet I don't even know who this man is and it would be crazy if I told him that I've seen a Storm in his eyes, a storm that I had never seen anything like it in my life. It was beautiful and enchanting. Everything that he Is at the moment. "Nothing... I didn't see anything." I lie, as my mind fully gets back to me again, and the storm finally dissappears. He let's go of me and i move to stand on my own. He looks at the features all over my face before he furrows his thick brows, in concern while he continues to stand awfully close to me and gosh he smells so good. A huge strike of lightning echoes outside before immediate rain starts pouring outside. I could have sworn that there was a zero percent chance of rainfall tonight, it was clear and there were no clouds insight, the ocean below the balcony starts to get angry too as the waves get aggressive and the moon looks as vibrant as ever right now. We both look outside before we look at each other again. "Are you sure that you saw nothing ?" He asks and I nod my head at him. "Nothing..."
Wild Magic Three: The Shade of the Earth- a M/M fantasy shifter romance by herellwrites

*****COMPLETE-- Book three in the Wild Magic Series. Sequel to By the Light of the Moon and The Dark of the Sun, but can be read as a stand-alone. The Shade of the Earth is a M/M, May/December, gay-for-you romance with fated mates, knotting, and a bobcat shifter with a small stature and big spunk.***** Robert has been surrounded by men attracted and romantically involved with other men for most of his life. He accepts his friends, defends them, loves them... but has never really understood them and their attraction to other men. Now, a diminutive bobcat shifter, with all the spunk of his feline counterparts, nameless and without a family or home, has claimed him as his mate, refuses to leave his side, and somehow forces him to see sex and attraction in a whole new light. But just as things are beginning to fall into place for Robert and his Sami, will they have everything ripped away by a dark figure from Robert's past? ************************************************ "I'm confused, Sami. This is... a lot. I've never been attracted to a man. I like women- I don't like men! Please understand, all of this is a lot for me." "I'm not men," the shifter whispered, a single tear dripping across his temple and back into his curly, ragged hair. "I'm your Sami." The words had the breath in my lungs freezing painfully. I stared down into his simple, open face, and had a sudden, near-violent realization. Sami ran on pure, feral instinct. This didn't make him stupid, it didn't make him simple of mind. It made his desires and thought process easy and pure. He wanted me, I was denying him. He couldn't understand any other reason for me to do this other than his own inadequacies. He didn't understand the laws of attraction as humans saw them. He saw only that I was his mate. And I was denying him.

[COMPLETED] ೋღ🌹ღೋ He stands roughly a few feet away from me, his body towering over my crouched one. I bring my legs up to my chest, pushing myself further into the wall as he kneels down towards me. He brings his nose to the crook of my neck, my face grimacing as I await for the pain. He breathes in, "hmmm, you smell so delicious." He coos, his breath fanning my neck, causing me to shiver In disgust. If only my brothers were here... "Wheres a delicacy like you been hiding this whole time?" His use of words has me on edge. His implementations imply that he's some sort of cannibal and judging from what he did to that other man I fear I may be right. I refuse to answer him, spitting in his face. My face bounces of the wall, the sting of his slap left behind on my cheek. I shake the pain away, placing a facade up to hide the fear within. You fucking bastard! I narrow my eyes at him, taking note of his features in case I miraculously survive this encounter. His hair is a dark auburn and his eyes that watch me with amusement are a dark blue. His attire was a black suit which seemed out of place considering he was standing in an alleyway. If I manage to escape I want to be confident that'd I'd be able to have this bastard put behind bars. Again if... His eyes shift, my eyes widening as his eyes turn from a dark blue to a pool of black, red veins trailing along from his pupil to the edge of his eyes. His voice is dark as he commands, "Show me that pretty little neck of yours." ೋღ🌹ღೋ ⚠️ Warning!!! This book is extremely dark and has depictions of Mature language, violence, sexual activity, sexual and physical abuse, including rape. Rape is a serious crime often overlooked where the victim is made to believe it is their fault. I do not condone rape however, it's a reality. Please only read if your 18+ and with caution. This book will be updated weekly. Possibly sometime more or less depending on how busy I am.

I woke to a sudden breeze invading the warmth from the heavy blanket that caressed my skin. Here, alone with my thoughts, the still, calm quiet in the atmosphere is almost painful. I feel suffocated in the clingy, static air. In quiet, still moments like these, I can almost feel Him. I don't know who "Him" is, but I can feel his presence. It's almost calming, especially on fearful, anxiety fueled nights. Usually, he was the strongest when I had a nightmare. The nightmares weren't as common now, but, right after everything happened, I was having them every night. I'd wake up and swear I was drenched in blood, my eyes and lips sticky, my nose filled with the smell of iron and fuel. After everything, that's when Him first came. From there, he just never left. I can usually sense when Him is near. Today, though, his presence is stronger. I can almost feel Him next to me, weighing down the mattress. Some nights, I roll over and imagine how he looks, envision his smile or the sparkle in his eyes. He's never there and I'm left clutching to the thought that he exists, staring into empty air. Tonight, though, I swear I can reach out and touch him. Extending my hand gently, I sweep my hand out into the darkness and meet an inexplicable warmth. A scream rips from my lungs as hands cover my face and two icy blue eyes stare back at me, daring me to speak again. A soft cloth caressed my nose and mouth before I felt myself fade into bed. The human population increased from 1 billion to 7.8 billion between 1800 and 2020 because of sewage treatment, clean drinking water, vitamins, vaccines and antibiotics. "How about we do this, you help me get back at work and I help with your... Orgasm Problem" "I don't have a problem" I say defensively and almost offended, if only he wasn't speaking the truth. "You know you do, I heard you. Remember?" "You shouldn't be eavesdropping on people's conversations like that. It's rude." "And I apologise for it. Now back to the big O problem, Let me help you with that. " he leans forward and stares right into the windows of my soul. My 'Yes' is begging to be released from the grip of my tongue, lord knows I do have a problem. But I know.... I know that once I cross this line, there's no turning back, there's no wishing for a way back and there's definetly no denying that I'll be putting a lot of things on the line, including my own life.
