It has been eight years since Draco Malfoy had last seen the Sun.

On May 2 1998, the Dark Lord defeated Harry Potter in the battle of Hogwarts, sending the whole world into an infinite eclipse. Harry Potter and the rest of his supporters were forced to go into hiding and the Order retreated underground, with limited movements.

And eight years and six months later, Draco Malfoy finds himself falling into the depths of despair as he turns to alcohol to keep himself afloat. Drowning in his memories, Draco has no respite from the nightmares as he sees the faces of the dead before him, and hears the cries of the fallen.

With the final battle approaching, and the Order stronger than ever, the War at its peak; can Draco Malfoy find redemption, or is he doomed to live in this cruel and dark world with his regrets, without forgiveness and love, forever?

Pale and shivering he glanced at her through the haze that clouded his mind and saw on her face the same gauntness pain reflected back. He found the echoes of war and the haunting memories of the fallen. He saw it in the sunken shadows of her cheeks and in the sluggishness of her body. But above all, he saw it in the emptiness of her eyes, for they were simply devoid of life.

They were fluctuating permanently in the abyss of his mind till he could no longer reach out to hold it. For it slipped through his fingers like grains of sand that drift away into the wind.

He was alone. But she didn't have to be...

Draco Malfoy: cold, distant, ignorant, rude, arrogant, and above all else, downright gorgeous. Juniper Hartley: caring, intelligent, unfathomably sweet, and above all else, downright gorgeous. As their paths cross unexpectedly and his mind bewildered with reasons he can't explain as to why he can't stop thinking about her, he's forced to examine the possibility of letting someone in, to sharing emotion with another person other than his thoughts. Dark times lie ahead in their future as Draco's family demands Death Eater, but his soul demands something, or someone, else. What lengths would you go to keep the person you love most safe? ________________________________________________ "I do believe such a place exists," he nodded, "and if we can't find it I would build you that white Tudor cottage with the stained glass windows, right on the edge of evergreen trees so that when the fog comes in the early morning, the air will be full of mist that carries their evergreen scent into that meadow full of flowers and grass." Draco spoke quietly and swiftly as if he could plan in his mind exactly how it would be, as if he could simply pick it up from his thoughts and place it in her hands so it could be her reality. 28 parts Complete

"But all those things you said to me." "It was all just a mask Hermione," I told her, "I had to say those things. I had to, because..." I thought about all the excuses I gave my guilty self, "...because I can't love you." "But you do." Draco Malfoy is only sixteen, yet he faces a decision that will affect the rest of his life. Does he choose his beloved family on their path of darkness and destruction, or does he stand by the girl he has been infatuated with for six years? The decision haunts him every night the lights go out in his dungeon dormitory. Over the summer before Draco starts his sixth year at Hogwarts, The Dark Lord gave Draco a mission that if he fails to complete would result in his death. Torn and terrified, Draco reaches out to his favorite and most trusted teacher, Professor Snape, who he hopes will help guide him down the perilous road ahead. Will Draco be able to spare his own life as well as the mudblood Hermione Granger, or will lose them both? --Started: Sept. 7, 2020-- --Finished: Sept. 14, 2020--
