When my stronghold got overrun with zombies, I had no choice but to run. Being captured by three people would've been fine, if they hadn't been zombies. Getting to another stronghold and living there was quite the chore, but what happened in the end is what shocked me the most.                        

Shout out and thanks to CrystalScherer who made this story possible, their story is "The Virus Within" and I highly recommend it to you.

 The description might change as the story progresses because things are becoming slightly more different since I first thought of the plot of the story, so keep an eye out for that.

 I'll leave the description the same until I'm certain it's going to be different from what it is now, or it's near the end of the story and I realize how much it's changed from my original idea so it might be awhile before it changes.All Rights Reserved

Body fluids entering any open wound, including the eyes, mouth, and nose, will seal the person's fate; they are now infected. It won't be long before they start screeching at the moon in a mock howl. The problem is, I am infected. I turned but retained most of my humanity. With my new lifestyle in a new world, I can't expect anything or anyone to act as I predict. My biggest question is, can I save my humanity? Or will I simply become part of the mindless feral swarm?

It didn't exactly make it easy to prevent getting infected. Things could have been worse, though, Megan thought. She could've been left all alone to ponder over her thoughts and fear over the future. It'll only be within the time spent with the new group will she find out that everything's not as happy and welcoming as it had seemed. These people had a few secrets of their own, including the real reason they took Megan in. Humans, animals, plants, you name it. In order to adapt to this living nightmare, daily routines suffered an overhaul. But even so cities fell, nations were destroyed, countries obliterated by the scourge of war. Humanity driven to the brink of extinction. In a desperate attempt to save the remnants of mankind, "Colonies" were created. Strategically placed in areas the infected are naturally unable to congregate in. For some unknown reason, they disintegrate or break themselves apart in desperate attempts to escape the inside of a Colony. On the flip-side, they often create nests where they're attracted to others of their kind. The motives that result in such behavior have yet to be discovered. These are called "Contamination Zones". Pools of infection that produce genetic amalgams beyond human comprehension. The fuel for nightmares that plague even the strongest of minds. In addition, several of these Colonies and outposts have started to rapidly perish. Dozens of them breached all over the continent. The infected seem to be growing stronger. This world has given Kayden Moss gentle insight into it's offers. It has made him travel from place to place, Colony or not, in order to simply awaken to fight another day. Eventually, at 19 years old, he came across a peculiar Colony named Zamaton, where he's lived ever since. News of the breaches reach the Warden of the Colony, Rhys, who demands measures to ensure everyone's safety start taking effect. Kayden however, is unaware of them, getting summoned into Rhys's office without previous notice. This only occurs for important matters, or for him to receive scolding for his actions. Whatever the case, he's sure the news are sour. Depending on the situation, the breaches might remain away from the Colony. Or so it seems.

However, they have different names now. The Ringleader - The Bearer The Samurai - The Guardian The Archer - The Improviser The Batter - The Runner The Kid - The Medic Mutants are creatures that look human but have one distinct characteristic that proves their true from. It's their eyes. Look into an abyss of blues with rows of symbols circling around the pupil to know the truth. The only way to beat them is to destroy the heart. Once found out, the mutants turn to their real form. They become beasts of legend. Serpants that dwell deep in the sea. Lizards that grow in size and take flight to the skies. Hounds that double or triple in size and spew the elements. And many more shapes, colors, and sizes. Once transformed the heart is shown involuntarily, simply dangling around the neck like a pendant. The squad is only one of few groups of people who have survived. Join their journey and witness survival of the fittest. these words are my two cents...(qTHE-ONEp)
