When 18 year old Desiree Johnson moves away from her small town in Vancouver Canada to get away from her abusive lifestyle from her two parents and older 19 year old sister Taylor she meets some people along the way Morgan, Alexander , Logan & Chase who go by the NickNames of Moe, Alex , Lo & C They all share the same interest and passion in music After only knowing each other for a month they decided they want to start writing songs and playing music together They are know as the band Despite Black After only a year of just playing small gigs in the LA region they get a call asking them to play on Warped Tour with 10 other bands When Desiree see's Danny Worsnop for the time in years after calling her " No Good, Freak , Useless " when she thought they were best friends all because of his bitchy girlfriend she becomes overwhelmed She starts to have strong feelings for Ben who is also in the band Asking Alexandria even though he has a reputation of being a total player How will this affect Desiree's carrier of being singer / song writer for her well known band Despite Black having all these memories come back to her after such a long time thinking she left in all to start new life .
