Post Plague Kidnapping - Published!
It's been five years since the plague struck. Leah knows there are other survivors, but she's avoiding them. She is doing just fine on her own. Surviving after everyone she knew died has made her physically strong and honed her intelligence, but she is emotionally devastated. There is nothing to fear if you don't make yourself emotionally vulnerable. James has spent the last five years helping to build up a colony of survivors. He believes in the small town they have populated and its mission to save humanity from extinction. He and his small team of men find scattered people and bring them in. Over the last two centuries, women have fought for and won more and more rights, gaining equality with men. Society, law, and technology bolsters and enforces these rights, but now they are gone. Women's equality with men is over. There are just too few of them. They aren't lesser but greater, more important, more valuable than men. Men are expendable. Men can stay outside alone if they like, but all women must be brought inside the safety of the Colony and properly taken care of. James has been searching the area Leah lives in. Her time of solitude is up. Leah sparks something in James he's never felt before. He's not letting this one get away, certainly not twice. Lunar Virus ✔️
Elodie's life changes at the turn of a doorknob when she is forced into joining a secret organization that claims to be protecting the Earth from aliens. But with every step she takes, she finds the organization, or the facility, as they call it, becoming more and more suspicious. When a mysterious death occurs, revealing a well-concealed secret, things quickly go downhill as humanity's future is placed on the shoulders of a single gaggle of teenagers. *** I hear a sigh from the other side of the door, "Miss. Chaucer, you have a wonderful opportunity here, are you going to take it or not?" Now, I am seriously confused, "Opportunity?" She takes advantage of my befuddled state and shoves the door open. Shit. The corners of her mouth pull up, and it's so unnatural, it takes me a moment to realize she's smiling. Major plastic surgery? Probably. Click. Did she just lock the door? She locked the door! I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. So, call me stupid, but I sit down. "I am from a space organization that protects civilians from . . . outside threats." *** Beautiful cover made by @mahana258! The Chosen One Chronicles: Where the Light Meets the Dark
High school student Anthony Scalese was having a normal day when his friends decided that they wanted to attend a party. After bumping into Emma, the girl of his dreams, in a not-so-positive way, he realizes that the day isn't going well. It gets worse when tragedy strikes, and his friend takes his own life at that party, forcing him into a depression that not even his little sister can help him out of. The only thing that keeps him going is his excitement for a school camping trip that is coming up with his best friend Edward. After a little mishap while hiking down from their camp site, Anthony and his major crush fall down the side of the mountain and get stuck, then get chased by a gun-wielding maniac into a cave. After what seems like days, they make it out of the cave alive, only to find out that they have ended up in a new world: a world where nothing makes sense. There are giants and leprechauns and shapeshifters...but there is also a great darkness that is out to destroy everyone-and everything-that it sees. Young Anthony finds out that it is up to him and Emma to save this new world with great powers that he had no idea he had, and make it home before anybody suspects a thing. Told from a first-person point-of-view, it goes into detail about the thought processes of a young man who has everything to lose. The protagonist deals with real life struggles every day, including the death of his friend, his dad who left him at an early age, and the pain of seeing his little sister being hurt by her boyfriend. He also has to take charge and become a hero for those who can't against an unwavering bully in a far-away world. My book blends fiction with reality, as the reader follows along in the life of a shy high school student who gets thrown into many situations he must overcome as he finds out who he truly is and why it is him who needs to save the world, while keeping the reader guessing every step of the way.Kumpleto
