Birthdays are supposed to be filled with fun and games, and for a girl, her sixteenth is supposed to be one of the most special.

But what happens when you receive a gift that you never wanted to get in the first place?

For Emily Crawford, that's exactly what happened. It wasn't a nice gift, all wrapped up with a pretty bow with wrapping paper to tear off: it was something that made her life a living Hell. And perhaps the worst part is that she can't get rid of it. No gift exchanges, no store credit... Just the World's Worst Gift, which she'll be stuck with for the rest of her life.

To make things even more complicated, Emily meets Ryan: a hot young guy that just moved to town and appears to have a thing for her, just like she does for him.

What happens when her "gift" gets in the way, showing her something that she desperately wishes she never saw in the first place? Love is complicated enough without throwing supernatural bonds and powers into the mix, but in this case, Emily has no choice.

Getting caught between a rock and a hard place is never fun, and in this case, it could be deadly...

Thanks to JazzyXD for going ahead and making the cover and for giving me a base for the synopsis! Her help has been greatly appreciated.

He had longed for her, every minute, every hour and day, though it was far more than he could ever comprehend. But just seeing her in front of him, alive and young, it was all payed for. "Because the last time, I couldn't save you as you died in my arms. And I'm not letting it happen again." ~~ A dark secret kept with a birth of murder, a life of façade, a leap from the future, and a love bound to break.
