Birthdays are supposed to be filled with fun and games, and for a girl, her sixteenth is supposed to be one of the most special. But what happens when you receive a gift that you never wanted to get in the first place? For Emily Crawford, that's exactly what happened. It wasn't a nice gift, all wrapped up with a pretty bow with wrapping paper to tear off: it was something that made her life a living Hell. And perhaps the worst part is that she can't get rid of it. No gift exchanges, no store credit... Just the World's Worst Gift, which she'll be stuck with for the rest of her life. To make things even more complicated, Emily meets Ryan: a hot young guy that just moved to town and appears to have a thing for her, just like she does for him. What happens when her "gift" gets in the way, showing her something that she desperately wishes she never saw in the first place? Love is complicated enough without throwing supernatural bonds and powers into the mix, but in this case, Emily has no choice. Getting caught between a rock and a hard place is never fun, and in this case, it could be deadly... Thanks to JazzyXD for going ahead and making the cover and for giving me a base for the synopsis! Her help has been greatly appreciated.

"My ideal type... Tall, dark hair, piercing blue eyes... Intelligent, confident, and a hint of mystery... Can make me laugh, even on my worst days... Loves adventure, tries new things, and isn't afraid to take risks..." As she wrote, the room seemed to grow quieter, as if the universe was holding its breath. Emily felt a shiver run down her spine. What was she getting herself into? Just as she finished writing, a sudden gust of wind blew through the room, extinguishing the lights. Emily gasped, her heart racing. What was happening? And then, a low, smooth voice spoke out of the darkness: "Hey, darling... why are you up so late?"
