So there happens to be this guy. Yes, I know. It's always about a guy. Well, she's a teenage girl, what do you expect? But anyway, the guy. He's...nice, supposedly. Ashlynn Johnson, however, couldn't care less about him. Ash, as her friends more affectionately call her, is more focused on soccer than anything. It's Harper that really matters. You see, Harper is Ash's best friend. Now nothing seems bad yet, right? That's where you're wrong. Harper has a major crush on this supposedly nice guy. Caleb gets his life back on track, enrolling at college and even meeting a girl whom he used to know as a child. The two of them begin to date each other, and everything seems great for a while. That is, until Caleb remembers the reason that he tried to commit suicide in the first place, revealing a secret that shatters his new found confidence. As things at home begin to deteriorate too, Caleb’s situation goes from bad to worse. The only person who knows the truth, Dr Palmer, leaves him to stand on his own two feet, declaring him cured. He starts back at college full time, and becomes ever closer with Stephanie, the only person whom he feels that he can trust. When his own father attacks his mother, Caleb begins to think that the police are on to him, trying to unravel his past, thinking that they have realised what happened to cause him to try to commit suicide. However, they are just trying to build a case against his father. In desperation, Caleb tried to reach out to Dr Palmer, against the advice of his mother. She struggles a lot with understanding friendship, love, and who to trust and not, and just when she thinks about giving up, she runs into Luke White. Luke White is exciting and intriguing to Avery, and he makes her feel things she can't even explain. He helps her fit in, and even introduces her to his friend, Nate Oak who she later dates. Luke makes Avery complete, and Avery makes Luke complete, but in a different way... Luke finally realizes his true feelings, and becomes angry, sad, and bitter.
