The battle between Steve and Tony took a lot out of each of them, but whilst one was affected emotionally, the other is affected physically. One gains a lot from the end of the war and the other loses all he had. One recovers, the other lands himself in a dingy appartment in New York, taking drugs and drinking himself to death. They find out how much they actually need each other, but neither wants to admit that they're important to the others life. Hopefully a third party, adored by both, can bring them to their senses and push them back in line.

Dustin put a hand on Steve's shoulder, "Are you okay?" Steve didn't know what to say... He wasn't okay...a guy who he thought he had not one connection to only to have the biggest connection to was dead and he was only now feeling it. And he'd also be only the second person he'd ever tell "I love you" to And he could blame the drugs but he knows it wasn't that... "I-I'm fine Dustin..." it takes him a lot to say it but he does, also adding a smile even though it's painful and it's fake. Dustin stares at him but doesn't ask further, handing him an envelope, "Well okay, this is the letter." "Oh..." "Do you know what it contains?" "I do, not the nitty gritty but a big factor of it I have a bit of a hunch about but if I told you Eddie told me that he'd kill me and I'm not in the mood for a haunting..." Steve rolls his eyes. "Dustin don't be so dramatic..." And Steve's about to open the letter but Dustin puts his hand out, "Actually...Steve..." Steve has eight weeks to finish studying for and pass his bar exam. And it's going rather well until 20-year-old boy genius Tony walks into the same library and sits at the same table. Steve doesn't usually go for kids like Tony- young and irresponsible, ripped jeans and eyeliner, and a tongue ring that is way more distracting than it should be. Oh, and Tony is high as a kite, studying his physics textbook. Steve should look away, but he can't stop staring, and Tony is staring right back, more than a little interested in the serious blonde with the cute glasses and big shoulders pushing against that button up.
