A young girl will do whatever it takes to reunite with her family when the unbelievable occurs.
No one is prepared for the attack that comes. They're being called the Terror and they stalk the night. No one's safe from the ones that hunt in the darkness. The world is falling apart and all Layken wants is to find her family. She can't afford to be distracted by Xavier or his promise to help. He hardly spoke to her until the day the world fell apart.
Will they survive, or lose everything? Together, they just may do more than live, but bring an end to the Terror.

Elis turns out to be someone else, and when another man swoops in every time Maxine is in danger, she becomes confused about what love really is. The Advisors, the ten women governing the world, want to assimilate the people of the island, not knowing that those people have an extreme advantage over them. Maxine also learns that her family has been lying to her about who she really is. Ultimately, when the Advisors come to destroy the island, she must face the fact that she is the key to the island's salvation, and embracing her rapidly developing abilities is the only way to do so.Complet

She comes to realize the world isnt as unforgiving and cold as it seems. She's saved by a native who dislikes humans as much as the next guy but shes intent on sticking by his side in order to survive.
