Rose Harmond and Savannah Greene have been best friends forever (and a half). As seniors in high school, they're pretty sure nothing can break the bond they've had since first grade. That is, until Rose's dad dies unexpectantly, sending her into a slow-spiralling depression that even Savannah's fun-loving and optimistic personality can't pull her out of.

As Rose withdraws deeper into herself and away from the ones who love her, she becomes more and more obsessed with the online mafia game called ScumFighters. There, she befriends several quirky online personalities who not only help her cope with the death of her father, but also offer her important life lessons as well.
