What happens when your whole world comes crumbling down all around you? Do you give up on life? Do you fall down and cry? Not for Emily Hope. When she fell, she learned to pick herself back up. She used to have a normal life you could say, but now was smack in the middle of a war: a war that she created. Now what happens when she gets involved with the Joker: an unforgiving psychopath, and the Batman: the masked crusader? Will she be the victim, the hero, or possibly the villain in the end?
EXCERPT:
"Hey! You have to stay awake, okay?" The voice said rapidly and out of breath.
I just held still, struggling to stay awake. It was so hard, though. I couldn't hold on anymore. I felt the person stop running and sit down, me still in their arms.
"Batman! Come on! We have to go! She's bleeding out more! Oh my gosh......she stopped breathing!" The voice screamed at Batman.
He was right, I wasn't breathing. In fact, I was on the brink of death. My heart was still beating, though. In a few more moments, I would be dead. Blissful death.
"Put the oxygen mask on her and get ready to shock her heart if it stops beating!" Batman ordered while we drove away, most likely back to the Bat Cave. Was I going to even make it that far?
My heart was so slow, I knew that I definitely wasn't going to make it. Sleep was calling my name. I gave in and drifted off, my heart stopping as soon as I did so.

Inspired by Instagram account: talon.grayson Extract from the book: Inside the cave the scene was still silent. Some lay in sleep within the pool of blood, and not a sleep they would ever awake from. Others sat in silence, utterly defeated from the half day they had spent in that room with Talon and the utter fear he had made them feel when he hunted them all down. A hunter and its prey. They had been put closer together now as well, Talon had deemed that they could talk but they were still separated enough that none was within reaching distance of the other. But they didn't want to talk. Some of them wished it would end already, like M'gann. Some were struggling to keep up their sass, like Artemis. And some were trying to stay in control, not to let their emotions get the better of them because that's the boy they raised doing this god-forsaken things to them. But the control would not last. Everyone knew that at some point the Batman was going to break. And he was going to break the hardest. So they sat there, chained and restrained in their chairs, wearily watching him as silent tears fell to the floor and mixed in with the red of their fallen friends. Jason had been walking for nearly twenty-four hours and his hopes for finding anyone in the cave alive were dwindling with each second. But he had gone and done the noble thing, he had gotten help. Maybe the three of them could stand a chance at beating Talon, maybe they wouldn't. But they had to try, it was the right thing to do. So the trio headed to the cave, not stopping to rest for the night because they could feel the danger in the air, they could tell that this strange boy that had turned up on their doorstep was telling the truth. "Too bad. You'll just have to suffer. . .just like your friend," Bane whispered, pulling out a knife. I couldn't help but wonder what friend he was talking about, I'd never even met anyone that lived in Gotham, let alone be friends with them. He started to carve deep cuts into my face, but I didn't cry out in pain. I refused to give him the satisfaction that would come with it. Then, just before I passed out and was taken away, I spoke once more. "I may suffer. . .I may die. . .But you will not win. . .Men like you never win. . .It's been proven in the past and this is just another event that will once again prove that evil never really wins. . .Because while Gotham still has people that believe in it, it'll never be truly destroyed," I told him in a hoarse whisper, fighting the pain that was threatening to devour me completely. He then picked me up and I was slammed to the ground. I thought I was left to die then and there. Jordan Gray is a young SHIELD agent with some unique talents. While she doesn't get a break too often, she thought that the trouble in Gotham was just another annoying thing to deal with instead of getting to take her vacation. As she swung her axe right over my head , hitting another zombie square in the head, sending a spray of blood all over the back of me. "We have to jump!" i screamed at everyone at the top of my lungs, i looked around to find at least 75% of our group either eaten or eating some one else. i knew i was being too slow in making my decisions, but all i could concentrate on was the sound of my heart beating in my chest. i pulled nicol to the floor and away from the zombie that nearly chewed off her head and watched her send a knife into its head with what seemed no effort at all. Then i turned and moved quicker than i have before to stop the zombie that i saw coming for me from the corner of my eye, i stopped dead in my tracks as my heart sank into the bloody stream of my circulation of life.
