17 year old Emery Jackson has always been a normal girl, until the day of August 17, 2011. Nobody knows what happened that day except for Emery and her mother, and they don't intend on sharing it with anyone. They never mention it, not even to each other or in the safety of their home. Even though this incident happened over 6 months ago, Emery is still depressed and plans to commit suicide if and when her mother stops watching her. But that's not a problem anymore, because now her mother has been murdered by the people included in the incident and they will do anything to get Emery right back where they had her 6 months ago. Emery immediately drops everything; school, friends, and hightails it out of the state and out of danger. Or so she thinks. What happens when Emery meets the mysterious Dakota Stone at her new school? Will he be able to help her and claim a spot in her heart? Or will he be brought into the danger Emery always tries to avoid? Follow the story that embraces Emery with high risk, death, and maybe even love.
