Life is pretty ordinary for 18 yr. old Drake Hunter, he's an exceptional student, he has lots of friends that support him, and a mother who loves him dearly. Until the day of his birthday, he discovers there's more to him than meets his natural red eyes. He discovers he has the ability to create and manipulate fire. With his new found powers Drake becomes a superhero just like in the comics and attracts attention, wanted and unwanted and as he gains a reputation a nameless enemy with the power to control earth advances with intentions on destroying Drake.
