You meet Natsu one day when you are walking through town, and see a huge explosion along with a big boat on the shore.
Turns out, some creep tries to kidnap a whole heap of girls, and Natsu saved them.
Basically, how you get pulled into this whole thing, you have no idea, but you ended up joining Fairy Tail, along with a girl called Lucy Heartfillia.
