Emma Marin had been friends with Justin Foley long before he became Liberty High's basketball team captain and notorious player. Long before High School came up. Long before he learned how to hide. Long before he was a reason to end a life. Their friendship had always been oddly stable and lasting, despite the obvious differences in both social and family backgrounds, and had been little affected by long periods of distance throughout the years. With the last bits his life he had tried to keep together crumbling into pieces before his eyes, Justin finds himself seeking help from the only person in his life who is yet to be dragged into the mess Hannah Baker left behind. The only person who doesn't know what he did. The one person he hadn't already destroyed. Because friendship, can be a powerful thing.

"Seriously Paige? I am sick of all this! I don't know how fix anything and we're fighting a losing battle. You need to make your final decision. It's either me or him." Of course Paige Walker was happy that her best friend had found love, how could she not be? Though she wishes that her friend still had some time to hang out with her, she is glad she had the opportunity to spend her summer with Scott Harper, her crush of the last two years and local heart-throb. Her bliss does not last long however, as the return to school brings with it several figures from Scott's past who are threatening to tear everything she worked for down unless their "relationship" ends. Is it really worth fighting for a relationship like theirs or is it better to just let go?
