Your father had gambled away all of his earnings, as well as your considerable inheritance from your grandparents. When he pleaded to you for help, you couldn't turn down the man who raised you, a man you knew had good intentions, but was in way over his head.
You worked your tail off for your father, taking graveyard shifts, selling your valuables. It got to the point where you quit school. But it wasn't enough. No, it was never enough.
You tried your best to never walk around at night, to get your payments in on time. It wasn't even about your father at this point, you were involved, too. They knew your face. But you kept away from them by the skin of your teeth.
At least, until now.
