Thea lived a simple life. She had a decent job that she dealt with, lived in a studio apartment, and friendly neighbors. She was quiet and content. That was until she met Jace. Jace was tall and overly handsome. He was mysterious and cold, kind-eyed but sharp tongued, and wild but down to earth. And he crashed into Thea's life out of no where. She gets attacked one night outside a store, and he saves her. She gets attacked another night, but he intervenes again. But then he takes her away, and she never realizes she can never go back.

And we have only just met. I don't think a bond can simply erase the will of an independent woman like me." His eyes came to life with a blazing fire. He closed the distance between them and kissed sensation back into her body, setting off every nerve in her flesh.
