Joey Quinn doesn't want to be a sob story. She doesn't want to be a tragic tale. She knows her place in the world, she knows who she is, and all she really wants is to just get by, because that's what she did before the incident four years ago and that's what she wants to do now. Yeah, there's a slight difference in her lifestyle - we're talking suburban teen turned full-blown prostitute kind of difference - but that's okay. Joey is convinced that she isn't hurting, and that her intelligence, her cigarettes and her Aunt Cheryl are all she needs. Plus, she finally has the opportunity to go to a real high school, so what can she really complain about? Nothing - right?
And then Miles McQueen comes crashing into her life.
Literally.
Suddenly her life gets shaken to the bone, and all she had known for the past four years - abuse and fear masked by a cocky smile, silent sobbing hidden under a delirious laugh, and sex, sex, sex - is slapped in the face by a beautiful, deeply troubled, extremely impulsive idiot of a delinquent. Calculated and strategic, Joey never could have seen Miles coming. Never in a million years. But when his chaotic story speeds into and collides with the seemingly well-versed chronicle that is Joey Quinn, the result is an explosive mess of threadbare emotions, turbulent bonding and a few tumultuous nights figuring out why they've tried to hide their hurt in the first place.
AN: if you don't like curse words, this story might not be your cup of tea.

He quickly becomes addicted to the girl and once he gets one taste he's done for. He warns her about his past, about his name, but she ignores all the red flags, not realizing exactly how intertwined she is with the people from his past. He becomes enamored with her, feels like she was made for him while still battling the demons of his past and soon it all becomes too much for him to handle. He makes a heartbreaking decision, thinking it's what's best for both of them and everything changes.
