After realizing that she is wanted by her horrid town mayor Iyla decides to leave her parents and set off into the forest, promising her best friend Dexter that she will be back for him. The mayor needs her to be able to finish an experiment that began before she was born. An experiment that most of the parents in Harpell Valley know about. Angry, confused, and betrayed 15 year old Iyla runs through abandoned towns and meets Todd. A 16 year old runaway that has been living in the forest for a year and a half already. Although their first impressions aren't great Todd and Iyla decide to stay together in the forest. But Mayor Hills has not forgotten about his experiment and he soon starts his violent search for Iyla. Will she have to choose between the two biggest people in her life? Will the choice be made for her? Or will Iyla and Todd be able to stay under densely forested lands?
