It's the same question that has been replaying in my mind for the last year. The what if--
What if they hadn't died?
What if I hadn't left?
What if I could go back and change it all?
I always thought I would have given anything for the chance to see them again. To see my mother's warm smile and hear my father's booming laugh one more time. To say goodbye.
But what if saving them meant never finding him along the way?
"No," I answer. "Because letting them go brought me back here. Back to you."
