Ava Martinez is seventeen and trouble. Her parents hate her and blame her for an accident that seemed to destroy her family apart, and as a matter of fact want nothing to do with her. And so when another night of drinking becomes a step too far, Ava is sent away to Arizona to live with her mothers friend and her family, where she will have to finish the rest of her senior year.

And so begins a journey of proving her critics wrong, especially the boy with the dark hair and vibrant grey eyes who has nothing but spitefulness towards her; but then again she did throw a cigarette at him.

But exactly why is Ava trying so hard to prove herself to a boy who is nothing but a stranger, and exactly what will Ava learn miles away from home in a small town where people already think she is bad news. But perhaps life isn't all about learning but rather finding yourself and realising that maybe, being Ava isn't so bad.
