Nightwing, (accidental?) Agent of SHIELD.

Dick Grayson has tried his Best™.

He dyed his skin extra white every night to protect his identity, he woke up at 6am no matter how late he'd been to bed the night before so he could stretch and train, he made himself a social pariah at school to avoid letting anyone close to his secret, and he was both top of his academic class and top of his game when it came to kicking bad guy butt.

But when he's openly denied any kind of responsibility (on The Day, too!) by his strict and stupid mentor because 'Sidekicks must earn their place through age and multiple moral mistakes and triumphs blah blah blah we're all dysfunctional orphans'; he decides that Speedy might just have the right idea about going solo.

His original plan did not at all include being sort-of-adopted by two 90/25 year old super soldiers or being taken under the surprisingly protective wing (or jet-repulser) of Tony Stark, and frankly how he ended up with SHIELD he'd never quite figure out, but things could only really go uphill from there, right?

...right?
