My 16th birthday will be wild, or that's what Kono thinks the morning of her birthday. Following a magical song, Kono finds herself lost in the woods. Eyes seem to watch your every step, yet she can find no one watching. With the help of wanna-be boyfriend Theo, she sets out to help find her missing best friend Jackie.
Only she's about to find out there is more to the story than just being a hero. The new world has a hold of all the stories and nursery rhythms that she grew up with, yet they are not as kid friendly as she thought. Kono might have to lose herself in her own story, to find everything she has been looking for.
