Nyx could not catch a break. Her plan for this year was to make more friends, annoy Scott and Stiles, bully Stiles into letting her drive the Jeep more often and get both of them to play first line on the lacrosse team. Maybe even get Coach to call her by her name instead of her last name. On the top of her list, of course, was to create more mischief in this boring town. Apparently, the Fates had a twisted sense of humor. The night before the first day of school, Stiles comes up with the bright idea to go looking for a dead body, only to leave her and Scott to fend for themselves once he gets caught. They barely escape with their lives, and with a new burden they didn't ask for. It wasn't what she had planned at all. Making a wish is dangerous, Nyx discovers, especially when you unwittingly make things worse. You wanted adventure, you wanted to find your other half? The Fates seemed to ask. Well, here you go. Except it's not what you think. Even driving the Jeep was not enough to cheer her up. When you're doing it for survival instead of just driving around with your friends for fun, it kind of loses the magic of actually driving it. Every single thing on her list had a twist to it. Even finding the other side of her own coin. Nyx, armed with terrible jokes and amazing humor, is prepared to wage war against whatever is threatening her town. Even if it takes using her bat on the ones she loves most. Photo credit: Brandon Woelfel
