It's been twenty years since the bewilderbeast attacked Berk. Hiccup and Astrid had an heir chief, Valka is continuing her career as a Titan dragon trainer, Snotlout and Ruffnut had a daughter just like her crazy uncle, Eret rescues dragons, and Tuffnut, Heather, and Fishlegs discover new islands and dragons almost daily. No night furies have been discovered. Yet.

Anais was separated from her village when she was merely five years old. Living a life of danger for fifteen years, she befriended many dragons; an old night fury, and a skrill. Dagur's skrill. After being spotted by a very handsome, charming, interested chief heir, Anais is getting into a net she didn't realize was in front of her. Now Anais is asked to help unravel a mystery she wasn't expecting, but gets trapped by her doom and her destiny; her victory will only reign at a terrible cost.

Kendrick Howard Haddock wants more in life than politics, trade deals, and ground time. He doesn't even have a dragon yet! What's worse is that his adviser for when he's chief is acting very suspicious. Kendrick is dead-set on figuring out if he wants to overthrow his father and then come for him next. But when he finds a girl with a dragon that was trapped in ice by his father, Kendrick wants her to help him solve his future adviser's mystery, find a dragon of his own, and maybe even become his lover.
