Lying there, my eyes never lost the star shooting across the sky. It was if I was longing to be there, to be flying into nothing, into the unknown because it was better than here. The grass was cool against my skin and the longer pieces tickled my nose. I could feel the damp clumps of dirt underneath me and I could feel the wet cotton of my t-shirt against my back. Yet I didn't move, didn't flinch because it was like I was paralysed. The stars held me down, as if they had invisible chains holding back my wrists from flying up, my legs from pushing away and my head from looking back. I couldn't quite explain how, but it felt like I belonged up there, in the sky, instead of here, on the ground. On this earthy, dirty, lumpy, bumpy ground that I had to call home. Then I closed my eyes, my breaths shallow and slow. [][][] Estella wasn't a normal girl, when living on planet earth and witnessing a meteor crash in her backyard.
