It's Marissa's first day at her new middle school in the city of Willow Lake, and she's nervous about what people will think of her. But her troubles greaten when she and her new friends get sucked into a portal that transports them to a planet of mystery and magic, Gardienne. The people who live there, called guardians, are rapidly falling ill from a strange illness called "The Taming", causing them to lose their powers. It's up to Marissa and her friends to save the guardians from The Taming, but with twists at every turn, will they even be able to survive this strange new world?
