Ever heard that bump in the night?
Perhaps the scream that would rip through you in the middle of everlasting darkness despite living in the middle of no where?
Or the shadows flitting across in your peripheral vision?
Who's to say that it is innocuous? Humans are blind creatures. Choosing to avoid what lurks in the darkness in favor for the comfort of the placid way of life. Yet they complain about the monotony of their day like they couldn't fix it.
All one had to do was look to the thing staring at them from the left to enter a new world but no, it didn't exist. The face was only an illusion created by an over worked brain.
At the same time they wish to believe that their brain still has natural instincts back from when the world was uncivilized. How does one preach something as contradicting as that?
That is a question that philosophers supposedly handle but under every circumstance they leave people unprotected. Left to be picked off by what doesn't exist.
Years ago when the world was far less complicated and open-minded a group was created for mercenaries that could use the connections. It has faded away from sight, just like what they hunt, but it does no less in it's attempt to keep humans safe. All one must do is look for the letters HS.

That's insane, or so Brinley had once thought. Brinley Zora, your normal everyday 24 year old video game streamer. The Moon Shines On Starlight
*Warning ahead content contains animal abuse It was dimmed. I couldn't see. Oh, but I could smell. The sweet scents all around me. Then I smelled her. I immediately knew who she was. My mother. My creator. I went over to her screaming my way between my two siblings. Although I was just a puppy, I could recognize my surroundings. When I was finished drinking the milk from my mother, I moved away. I felt a hard surface underneath me. There were plenty of other scents too. One that smelled delicious. I also couldn't hear, but I could feel movement. I was removed from the hard surface and handed a much softer place. There were these weird bumps over the softer surface. It moved me around, and I was set back down in place on the floor. A couple of weeks passed though I couldn't feel it. Each day felt as if I was still a newborn. Time was not essential in my mind. As I got older, my senses started to sharpen. I could see and hear, but the one thing I couldn't see was color. All I saw was black and gray. My mother was very furry, but so was I. I would often smell her, and I liked how her scent smelled sweet. When I could, I would find food around a dumpster. We were learning more as we got older. I had two sisters and two brothers, as I was one of the girls. We spoke to each other often, my siblings and me. "Let's go, children." Mother said to us in a soft voice. We knew how to communicate. When we fought over food mother, would tell at us. I didn't like being in trouble. I was usually quiet. One day I learned the soft surface that I had encountered was a human hand. I had felt that same surface when a human came up to us. The human loaded all of us in their vehicle. We came upon this strange building. The human let us out in this strange building. There were many scents. I couldn't place them all at once. I concentrated on one specific scent. Strawberry. It smelled so sweet, and it started to hurt my nose.Complete

Many people believe that the blind are only those who can't see. They are wrong. Everyone is blind, in one way or another. Blindness comes in many forms. Those who are blind to the evils of the world are blind to reality. Those who are blinded by beauty are consequently blind to the fact that it comes with a price. And those who are blinded by light are also blind to the notion that it is accompanied by shadows. And though I must admit that I, too, was not above being blind. I knew the shadows all too well. My life was lead in the shadow of a wall; I was born shrouded in it, and if it were up to them, I would die the same way as well. The very moment I began to understand the world around me was the same moment it came crashing down. For at that moment, I realized that this wasn't my world. It was theirs. I had previously said that I was not immune to blindness. I knew I was different, but as they say, everybody is different for a reason. But I was blind to the fact that my reason was him. I was blind to the cruel twist of Fate that allowed my captor to become my liberator, and I was blinded again by the same cruel twist of Fate that made my liberator my captor. I was blind to the implications of making a deal quite literally signed in blood, and I was blind to the fact that it would bind me to the life of another for eternity as we knew it. I was born for him. He was born to kill. Have you ever walked outside at night? When it's so dark and you can't see a thing at first? I often do that and I'm never afraid. Because I know that after a while my eyes will adjust to the dark and I will be able to make things stand out. I'm always safe. I always know where I am. But not today, it was so dark, all I could see was a suffocating darkness around me. Aria my wolf huffed in annoyance when even she couldn't see a thing or couldn't pick up a scent around us. 'Ophelia, what's happening?' she muttered. 'I don't know' I whispered back aloud. The words had barely left my mouth when I heard something running quickly in our direction. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise.
