Ever heard that bump in the night?
Perhaps the scream that would rip through you in the middle of everlasting darkness despite living in the middle of no where?
Or the shadows flitting across in your peripheral vision?
Who's to say that it is innocuous? Humans are blind creatures. Choosing to avoid what lurks in the darkness in favor for the comfort of the placid way of life. Yet they complain about the monotony of their day like they couldn't fix it.
All one had to do was look to the thing staring at them from the left to enter a new world but no, it didn't exist. The face was only an illusion created by an over worked brain.
At the same time they wish to believe that their brain still has natural instincts back from when the world was uncivilized. How does one preach something as contradicting as that?
That is a question that philosophers supposedly handle but under every circumstance they leave people unprotected. Left to be picked off by what doesn't exist.
Years ago when the world was far less complicated and open-minded a group was created for mercenaries that could use the connections.
