I waved goodbye and walked back to the car. It was across the street, farther away than usual. I looked both ways and crossed the street. I was halfway there, and I heard tires whine on the road. I slowed down and looked to my right. I saw a car coming closer and closer. I was frozen fear. I moved a little forward.
Everything went black.

Oh the agony. . . . I was soon blinded by pain. I opened my mouth to screech, but dirt and blood entered my mouth and I was forced to cough. Comet was gone. I had failed my mission.
