Josie Stebbins is 13 years old and is in the eighth grade at Montagne Beach Middle School in Monterey Bay, California. She lives with her father Skylar Stebbins, mother Sindy Houston, younger sister Anne-Marie Stebbins, and triplet brothers Nigel, Homer, and Walter Stebbins. She spends her days trying to be a non-conformist, often skipping classes and causing trouble for her fellow classmates. But when she meets Moira Downing, Seth Burke, and Trixie Leigh Stebbins, sparks start flying and the kids end up changing the way that most teenagers view the world.
