"I should've done it. I should've killed you," he mutters, torn between keeping her safe and pushing her away.
Isabelle's persistence chips away at his defenses, but Daryl remains guarded. "Look, whatever it is you're holding on to; it's already gone, man. Wake the hell up," he snaps, trying to drive her away while staying close enough to protect her. His internal conflict is loud-he hates and loves her, wishing she were gone but unable to let her go.
