Prestley Mitchell and the Winchester brothers have known each other since they were kids. Growing up as a hunter, Prestley already knew what the whole life had to offer, so she was glad when John decided to take her in. She experienced life with the Winchesters and they grew to be the family she needed.
Many years later, after they put Lucifer back in his cage, their group split, leaving the brothers without their life long friend. Needless to say, they were sad that she wasn't around anymore (Dean the most), but life moved on and the world needed saving once more so the Winchesters were off to save it.
Prestley kept hunting after she left the boys. She hated leaving them, but she had to because of that stupid mark. The Mark had changed her life completely, but she wouldn't change anything she did to get rid of it.
Now, running on a piece of hunter gossip saying that Dean is bearing the Mark Of Cain, she finds her way back into the life of the Winchesters. As their story continues, Prestley tries to help Sam get Dean back to himself, but something seems off to her.
What will happen as they keep trying to get the Mark off of Dean and how will the Winchesters react to finally finding out the real reason Prestley left them in the first place?

The Miracle Within
written for the 2k18 DeanCasMiniBang Challenge. Immediately set after 13x05. The Winchesters just received the most unexpected of the calls and now their life is on the verge of undergoing another, perhaps just as radical change. After losing his mother and his best friend, Dean found himself in a very dark place, unable to share Sam's stubborn hope that Mary might be alive and refusing to mourn Castiel. He's been stuck between trying to cope with their losses, with the aid of unhealthy amounts of alcohol, and being unable to hold back his anger issues, of which Sam and Jack have become the unlucky main targets. The reunion with the angel, while, on one hand, shines a fresh ray of hope on the boys' path, on the other puts a spotlight on the mistakes made in the previous weeks and brings up issues that have been ignored and avoided for too long. Cas is determined to reconnect with Jack and try to fix the relationship between Dean and the nephilim, together with helping his best friend to heal. This assuming that he can get through the older hunter first. Because getting Dean Winchester to talk about his feelings can turn out to be as hard as stopping the umpteenth apocalypse. He was around my height, maybe an inch or two shorter. He had blond hair and dark eyes. "What are you doing here?" Saige asked, looking over at him. "Here to pick you up." He shrugged, a smirk forming on his face as he looked at me and placed an arm around her shoulder. "Nice to meet you. I'm Thomas." ____ One year after Sam sacrificed himself to stop the apocalypse, a year and a half after Saige died, and suddenly the two reappear, flipping Dean's world upside down and tilting it on its axis.
