Seeing my wife in the state she was in has to be the 2nd most painful thing to go through, the first being losing your little princess. I watched her sleeping peacefully, at least she was at peace and not thinking about what we are currently going through. I think the most painful thing about losing someone is that there's no warning, you don't get a chance to say a proper goodbye to them and there's no telling when you'll ever see them again. Death is a thief. - Melo Before my daughter came into the picture I used to drink and get really drunk. Alcohol has always been a coping mechanism f and my go-to for pretty much every emotion, be it happiness or sadness or even anger... it was always my go-to. But I stopped when I found out I was pregnant and only drank every now and then but never to get drunk. Losing my child has been hard, it's been a struggle I am yet to conquer, if how I also don't know. I've never been able to handle pain easily, for me reality strikes after some time... let's just say I react in a much later stage to pain or trauma. Yes, she was gone but I didn't want to accept it at first and I can't say that I've accepted it now because I haven't still but I'm taking it one day at a time... I've been drinking to ease the pain and not think about her or remember her but that's stupid because every part of this big house reminds me off her. It's been a month since her funeral and I've been drinking excessively. I'm not coping and neither is Melo. I cannot imagine us surviving this one. We just strangers who sleep on the same bed. After the 3 weeks orientation program of the NYSC, I was posted to a secondary school at Oyan for the one year service. I was given a room on the school compound at the Corpers' quarters. On getting to On getting to Oyan, I started looking for a Pentecostal church where I could be worshipping, and soon I was able to find one. Shortly after I started worshipping in the church, I joined the choir. Fortunately, it was at the time when the choir leader just left the church, and there was nobody to coordinate the members. Before I knew it, I was made the choir leader after being interviewed by the pastor, Pastor Williams. I was loved by everybody in the church, especially the choristers, because of my unique voice. Whenever I sing or lead a song, the whole congregation has a way of murmuring "Huuuuunnnnn!" with a sigh of satisfaction when they hear my voice. Most of the choir members were younger than me, so they call me "aunty" or "Sister Sewa". One of them was Bode, who used to play keyboard for us in the church. He was so gifted when it comes to instruments; there was no instrument he couldn't play. I always felt the presence of God whenever he was on the keyboard. I was named Adesewa after my late grandmother, who passed away shortly before I was born. My dad loved his mum so much, and hence transferred the love to me, believing that his late mother was the one who came back, more so, according to him, I was the mama's carbon copy. It was after he became saved, that he knew he was wrong. My second name was Yetunde. My dad saw me as perfect. Anything I did or said was right, even when I myself knew I was wrong. In a nutshell, I was his favorite. When my mum noticed that daddy was treating me like the apple of his eyes, she wasn't taking things easy with me at all. The killing are happening again I said to my mother from the living room, she walked in to watch the news reporter explain the chain of evens that have been happening a little to close together in grove hill. The reporter spoke clearly "the last where about's have not been released yet but the lapd have been on the case for months now with the disappearances still happening will we ever get to the bottom of the phantom killer back to you John" both me and my mom looked at each other in sync saying lock up I'll take the upstairs rooms and you lock up down here. Walking up the steps my head kept circling around the fact that more and more disappearances are happening who or what could possibly be doing this. I made sure to lock every window, heading back downstairs I heard a plate drop and a scream. Mom! Mom answer me! Circling into the kitchen I see my mom laid out on the floor blood gushing from her stomach. No mom I scrabbled to grab a towel and placed it hard on her wound. I fumbled my phone a few times before I got it unlocked typing in 9-1-1 I heard someone in the corner say tsk tsk tsk I wouldn't do that.Complete
