Samantha, the first teenage female, along with Thomas, another teenager, arrive in a glade at the center of a giant labyrinth. Like the other youths dumped there before them, they have no memory of their previous lives. Thomas and Samantha quickly become apart of the group and soon after demonstrates a unique perspective that scores them a promotion to Runner status -- those who patrol the always-changing maze to find an escape route. Together with Teresa, the only other female, Thomas tries to convince his cohorts that he knows a way out, but Samantha doesn't trust Teresa. She's seemed suspicious since the moment she woke up and said Thomas' name. The reason being because nobody remembers anything when they first arrive. So how does she, the only other female and last person to be dumped there, know Thomas' name? Nobody knows but Samantha doesn't trust Teresa, all she knows is that if there's a way out... Samantha will do anything to find it, even if that means losing something very special to her.

The Labyrinth (1): She arrived with no warning. Only what she can piece together in her mind can she survive the Maze and it's inhabitants.
'You don't belong here.'
'Get out!'
I winced in pain.
The boys roared with laughter, distracting themselves at my amusement.
I scrambled back. The words setting me on fire. I didn't give them a chance to react. I forced myself up from the floor and sprinted away. I hadn't thought further ahead then go. I hadn't thought of a direction to go, let alone where an exit would be. That was until I saw a very large dark opening right in front of me.

The Storm (2): The Maze was were she thought she belonged. The Scorch is where she will find her answer. But is it the one she was looking for?
"My, my, my," she spoke to the sleeping girl. "What a muddle you have gotten yourself into. I hope you're ready for what's to come."
