May is the type of person who notices everything. She can read people and can know almost everything about a person by listening to the way they speak and watching the way they act. She can pick apart someone's mind with just a glance. All but one. Sam is your typical 'better-than-everyone' jock, on the outside. On the inside, locked away safe from everyone is this complete other person that remains a mystery to all those around him. May wasn't sure of her feelings, she was interested in him because she couldn't unlock his mind like she could everyone else. She wanted to know him, to be able to understand him. She wanted to crawl in and dig through his deepest, darkest thoughts. The two were from different world's, located in different galaxy's. But throw in a new English assignment, a few letters and we have ourselves an interesting love story.

Secrets: everyone has them; he had many. "Hey girl. You alright?" was all that, that gentle voice had to say to make the tears break free again. She wanted to wail, to scream, and generally break down. She wanted to be held in his arms, in hers. It didn't matter; she could have neither and it broke her heart. She took several deep breaths to try and find her calm before even trying to speak. Her friend, knowing her better than most ever would, waited patiently, in silence for her to answer. No. She was not alright.
