Bodies suddenly start piling up when a Count passes through Ashville, whether by coincidence or not, and Alallia is the first to notice. Being a woman in the 1700's, no one listens to her when she discovers that none of the victims are actually dead. When her father suddenly also becomes a victim of these 'False Deaths', Alallia only has a certain amount of time to save him before it's too late. With the help of the Count, she starts digging around to solve the mystery of why and who is responsible for these horrendous acts. What Alallia doesn't know, is that the people she believes she can trust, are the ones willing to stab her in the back. Can Alallia really trust the Count? If not, who could she trust? And why is the Count really in Ashville?
