The Sword of Milk-White Jade

Chihiro is the daughter of a daimyo and the sister of a renowned samurai. Despite her strong intelligence and skill with a katana and wakizashi, she has been raised to believe one thing; her body is not her own. Because she was born a girl, her only choices are to either marry a man of her father's choosing or become a geiko, a woman whose soul purpose is to entertain men. Suppressing her emotions, Chihiro goes about her days doing what is expected of her.

When her father tells her that she is to marry the son of the Shogun, a man who is ten years older than her, Chihiro stretches out of her obedience, recklessly causing an accident that leaves her scarred and with an infuriated father, who now believes that her only chance of earning the family honor is to marry someone of a high status. Cutting her hair and buying new clothes from a drunkard, she becomes Hiro, a peasant boy with sharp wit and deeply set paranoia. If she is caught, she will be sent back to her family in disgrace.

Three weeks into her new life, Chihiro is captured by the Kurosawa clan, a group of bandits. She becomes their virtual slave, carrying out tasks that, as a lord's daughter, she has never done. Even as she plots her escape, she grows to befriend the ronin, and even find love among them.

However, a secret resides within her blood that even she does not know about. A power that is craved by the Shogunate. And they will stop at nothing to control her.
